With a fully fit squad what would be your starting XI?
|
And bench?
For me, this squad is the best since we had the emergence of Ferdinand, Cole, Carrick and Lampard. It will be a true test of intent from our owners as to whether they will they keep this squad together and continue to build or sell our jewels and be happy as a 2nd class prem team. If it's the former we have a serious chance of challenging the top 6.

Let's face it, we will never have a fully fit squad with this group of players.
We've got a lot of talent. But we've got a lot of injury-prone talent.
So it's rarely - if ever - going to happen.
With that in mind, my starting XI is...
Fab
Whoever's around at the time x 4
Whoever's around at the time x 3
Whoever's around at the time x 3
Subs: Could be anybody - or nobody - depending on how busy the physio's room is.

Was just thinking this. We have 4 genuine match winners in Arnie, Anderson, Lanzini and Yarmolenko. Fitting them all into the same team won’t be easy but if we ever manage it, it’ll be a hell of a game to watch. I can’t ever remember us being in that position.

Agree on Yarmolenko, far too one footed.Definitely something about him but inconsistent and frustrating at times like Antonio. but just like the latter you know he can create something or score a minute after falling over his own feet.

Surprised Yarmolenko gets so many starts in this thread. One decent half at Everton and not much else. Jury defo still out on him.

If you're saying fully fit, a fully fit Carroll wouldn't be out of the question. But he's rarely fit.

I don't believe that Reid or Wilshire will ever be sufficiently fit to be truly 100% and be able to play week in week out so I've not even included them in this fantasy 11.

Wilshere gets nowhere near for me . Vastly overrated. Gives the ball away constantly, can’t score , creates little , made of glass .

To be honest I forgot about Wilshire when I put my team on here - it's hard to imagine him being fully fit and firing. But I suppose he would take Noble's place.
Re the comments on Masuaku, it was me that started a recent thread in his defence. But I was only saying he's not as bad as many people on here make out. I also said that Cresswell at his best is clearly a better option, and thankfully that looks like it could be happening.

Antonio was brought from Forest on the value he was playing up front scoring goals for them.
He is not a nature right back

If we are actual talking fully fit, which is a fantasy with us in and of itself.
I would have Wilshere in there.
For who becomes a nice problem to have.
